LAKE TAHOE, Nev. (Nov. 30, 2010) – Some businesses deck the halls. Others may squander or play Scrooge with their time and money. But as the holidays roll in, Chase International agents come together to give back to their community.
Chase’s Incline Village office got an early start to the holidays by working with the Nevada Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America for a pre-Thanksgiving food drive. Chase has been participating in the Scouting for Food drive for several years, which this year included co-sponsoring the door hangers/reminders and placing a barrel in the office for onsite donations. The scouts collected non-perishable food items on November 6 but donations, which will go to Project MANA, will be accepted at the Tahoe Boulevard office through January 1. Agents also participated in Project MANA’s “Let’s Talk Turkey” turkey distribution, and will be a Toys for Tots drop-off point as well as adopting seniors through the Adopt-a-Senior Holiday Giving Program.
Several families will also feel the holiday spirit via Chase’s outreach. Zephyr Cove agents have been providing gifts and food for needy families in the area for more than six years and will continue to do so. The Truckee office will be sponsoring a family through the North Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center. And in addition to the Tahoe City and Squaw Valley offices adopting a family, agents Trinkie Watson and Jean Ludwick will be adopting seniors through the Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation and assisting with the Queen of Hearts seniors’ brunch. The Chase Reno office is providing gifts for 40 children in the area via a Salvation Army Angel Tree.
“Having lived longer in Tahoe than my birth city, San Francisco, I am truly interested in the sustainability of this community,” Watson said. “Success in my business created an obligation for me to participate in our local philanthropy – doing my part to fulfill the needs of our community and support the amenities we cherish.”
