MONMOUTH BEACH: Resources Real Estate hosted a champagne brunch for friends and clients at their newly opened office in Monmouth Beach this past Sunday. The crowded event was held at their office at 36 Beach Road in the heart of town.
“I have always had a warm place in my heart for this town… it’s truly special,” said Carolynn Ozar Diakon, broker owner of the company, a former resident of Monmouth Beach. “It felt like a homecoming for me.”
Over 200 guests attended the open house celebration, which included past clients, friends and many locals who were eager to welcome the real estate firm to town.
‘It’s exciting and an encouraging sign to see a real estate office expanding when others are closing,’ said one attendee. The company also has an office in Rumson.
The event was also an exhibition for several local artists whose work was on display ranging from carved sculpture made from recycled surfboards, to oil and watercolor paintings, fine photography and pastels. Guests were invited to bring donations to support Family Promise, a local non-profit organization that helps homeless families.
“Whether it’s collecting supplies for those in need or helping to showcase the work of our local artists, we feel it’s important to be an active member of the community,” said Thomas McCormack, broker-manager of the new office and partner with Diakon in the company. “Our work isn’t just to sell houses… it’s to help people understand why this is such a great place to live. Monmouth Beach is more than a bunch of pretty houses by the ocean… it’s a wonderful community of caring and creative people.”
Food and baked goods were supplied both by local eateries as well as some of the company’s own agents. Preparations have been underway for the past several weeks and included a total makeover of the interior, which had previously served as a barbecue restaurant, as well as extensive re-landscaping in front of the building.
“It looks amazing both inside and out,” said Megan Heath Gilhool, one of the local artists whose work was featured at the event. Other artists included Karol Thompson, Bob Herbert, Eileen Campbell, Lisa Marie O’Connell, Ronnie Jackson, Laura Petrovich-Cheney, Patsy Chacey, and Robby Doe.
Resources Real Estate agents who will be working in the Monmouth Beach office include Patricia ‘Trish’ Bennett, Patricia Cahill, Patrice Cicalese-Carden, Vanessa Dooley, Lauren Dooley, Helen George, Jessica Johnston, Michael O’Brien and Dennis Soboti. Diakon opened Resources Real Estate, a full service real estate company in 2000. McCormack joined her as co-owner in 2010.
