Cornelius, NC - For the sixth consecutive year, Lake Norman Realty has been honored as a top-ranked finalist in the Charlotte Business Journal's "Best Places to Work" contest. This year the firm placed fourth among twenty finalists in the Mid-Sized Business category for the Charlotte Metro region. Lake Norman Realty’s President, Abigail Jennings, accepted the award at the Best Places to Work gala held at the Charlotte Convention Center on Friday, November 9th, 2012.
When asked about Lake Norman Realty’s consistent success in the “Best Places to Work” contest, Jennings credited her commitment to listening to her associates. “Our employees have a voice in the company and have helped make us who we are today,” she said. Jennings went on to cite the importance of a unified sense of mission among company leadership and associates. “We all share the same goals, beliefs, and values at heart. This creates the family atmosphere and spirit of camaraderie which we are known for.”
Another way Jennings keeps a fun and competitive edge alive and well with Lake Norman Realty associates is through creative sales incentive programs. Every month associates who meet certain sales criteria are taken out to lunch at the restaurant of their choice. In addition, top associates in terms of yearly sales production are treated to an exclusive “Day of Luxury” with Jennings. However, one popular program at Lake Norman Realty is not sales-based. Each week associates have the opportunity to recognize and be recognized by peers for team work and lending a helping hand to other associates.
Since 2006, Charlotte Business Journal has conducted their annual "Best Places to Work" contest to celebrate companies that create workplaces valued by their employees. Results are based on employee feedback from detailed online surveys facilitated by Quantum Workplace, an independent human-resources survey company based in Wichita, Kansas. Each of the honored companies has found innovative ways to keep employees happy and engaged. Business categories are small (10 to 49 employees), mid-sized (50 to 249 employees), and large (250 or more employees).
