NASSAU, BAHAMAS - Palm Cay – the fully-funded, $200 million, family-oriented marina community, was recently presented with the first ever "Developer of the Year" Award from the Bahamian Contractors' Association (BCA).
The development in southeastern Nassau is just 180 miles from Miami and has caught the attention of U.S. residents searching for the ultimate vacation home in the Bahamas as well as the BCA for its outstanding development. "Palm Cay has illustrated its commitment to creating opportunities for contractors in the area," said BCA President, Godfrey Forbes. "Palm Cay nudged out two other competitors to win this award"
Similar to other contractor’s organizations around the world, the Bahamian Contractors' Association has presented many other awards to contractors, but never before to a development as a whole, showing that Palm Cay is truly an extraordinary project. Forbes said Palm Cay had also raised its profile, keeping the public informed about its progress, including meeting self-imposed deadlines and remaining on schedule without compromising quality.

"We are extremely happy and thankful to be the first development to receive this award," said Sales and Marketing Director of Palm Cay, Zack Bonczek. "Since we introduced Palm Cay in March 2013 with new offerings, our 194-slip marina, lighted tennis courts, an active social calendar, as well as our growing Bahamian staff, we’ve garnered so much interest.” Friday night happy hours (which are on hold temporarily while the clubhouse is being converted into a restaurant) were drawing in more than 100 people and Saturday family fun days with poolside lunches, casual volleyball games and other activities, were just as popular.
Last month, Palm Cay revealed that more than 70% of their single family home lots had been sold. Construction crews are now working on site preparation for the development’s first condominiums – phase 1 of The Anchorage.
With a completed build-out slated for 2017, Palm Cay is a family-friendly community that will include single-family homes and townhomes and has one of The Bahamas’ best beaches, three acres of parks and recreation, tennis courts and a restaurant that will seat 160 guests. Plans call for 50 condominium units and additional residential and rental options. Palm Cay’s full-service marina is the closest marina in Nassau to the Exumas – which are world-renowned for their sport fishing.
