1393436423DENVER, CO - Lisa Wicklund of Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty is more than just an experienced real estate broker; she is a pillar of strength in the Denver community. Since moving here over seven years ago, she has plunged headfirst into Denver’s philanthropic culture offering her time and support to many great causes near and dear to her heart.

“Volunteer work is a passion of mine. I strive to give back to the community every day, from helping people find homes, to providing my time and support to foundations that make a difference in the lives of families throughout Colorado,” says Lisa.

1393436597Most recently, she served as co-chair of the 15th Annual Denver Heart Ball held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, alongside husband Grant Wicklund, president and chief executive officer of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center.

Six-hundred American Heart Association supporters gathered for “Some Enchanted Evening” - the theme of the annual event - which consisted of a VIP reception, followed by a silent auction, Hawaiian inspired dinner, special presentation, and live auction. The annual event raises funds for heart disease and stroke research, as well as educational programs in Denver.

This year, there was a special focus on the critical issue of children's heart health – a cause important to Lisa. She has provided support to similar causes in partnership with Children’s Hospital by using her native Spanish speaking ability as a translator for the Ronald McDonald House, and was also a valued volunteer member of the Junior League.

“Having two children of my own, I find it essential to stay actively involved with children’s charities. I cannot tell you how many times I have been touched by the people I meet at these events and their stories. It has taught me that any kind of help, be it large or small, makes an impact.

Sara Tobin, communications director at American Heart Association said of the Wicklunds, “Both truly understand the significance of cardiovascular disease and were eager to assist Denver residents and the business community in understanding the importance of their participation in the Heart Ball. As a result, this year’s event was the most successful Heart Ball to date generating over $800,000.”

Lisa’s supportive nature translates into her professional life as well. “I feel privileged to help people buy and sell their homes. It’s a personal experience and one that I often develop true friendships from. The most rewarding part for me is seeing my client’s goals realized, so they can begin life anew,” says Lisa.
