GLENBROOK, NV – Lake Tahoe SummerFest got off to an early start last week when Chase International hosted a private preview and reception in Glenbrook.
The concert, held last Sunday at a private Glenbrook home, featured a performance by a string quartet from the SummerFest Orchestra. Guests, who included Glenbrook residents and Chase clients, were also given the opportunity to meet and mingle with the musicians. The sponsors of this preview event were Clif Chase, Georgia Chase and Charlene Meenan of Chase International’s Glenbrook branch office.
“It was an amazingly beautiful event,” said Charlene Meenan. “We consider it a wonderful opportunity and responsibility to cultivate this caliber of event and culture in Lake Tahoe.”
The prestigious classical musical series was founded in 2011 and is held the first three weekends in August at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village. In addition to spectacular performances from renowned musicians, the event includes Meet the Musicians receptions, children’s concerts, and a premier lakefront gala. Midweek rehearsals are open to the community.
This year’s event features musicians from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestras of New York and Los Angeles, and the Symphonies of San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Vancouver, Toronto, and Leipzig.
SummerFest is quickly becoming one of the region’s more distinctive events, further establishing Lake Tahoe as a cultural destination.
