MAUI, HI – Geoff Wood, CEO of Windermere Real Estate, announced a new affiliation today between Windermere Real Estate and Wailea Realty Corp. The new franchise will now be known as: Wailea Realty Corp., a Boutique of Windermere Real Estate. The boutique affiliation is the first of its kind for Windermere Real Estate, which has more than 300 offices throughout the Western United States. The new affiliation between the companies will also see the opening of a Windermere Real Estate office in Kihei called Windermere Maui.
Wailea Realty will continue to operate from its existing location at The Shops at Wailea; the Windermere Maui office is located in the Rainbow Mall in Kihei. While operating under different names, both offices are owned by Maui native Brad MacArthur and long-time Maui resident Tom Tezak. MacArthur and Tezak came together in 2011 to purchase Wailea Realty from MacArthur’s parents who had owned and successfully operated the business for 35 years under the leadership of Helen MacArthur.
Founded in 1972, Wailea Realty has consistently boasted the largest market share of any real estate company in the Wailea resort district; they currently represent 25 percent of all home sales in the area, more than double that of their closest competitor. As the exclusive project broker for original developer sales for the majority of the Wailea communities, the Maui-based real estate company has sold over $2 billion worth of properties in Wailea Resort.
Despite Wailea Realty’s long-standing success, MacArthur and Tezak said that they felt it was time to affiliate with a large real estate firm that could help them achieve a more global reach. Enter Seattle-based Windermere Real Estate, the largest regional real estate company on the West Coast with more than 300 offices and 6,000 agents in 11 states and Mexico.
“The culture, integrity and values of Wailea Realty are mirrored by Windermere Real Estate and its leadership, so this partnership is a natural progression for us,” said MacArthur who is the Principal Broker/Owner of Wailea Realty Corp.
“We have a great passion for the Wailea Realty brand, so it was important for us to affiliate with a company that would enable us to retain that brand,” said co-owner and Broker in Charge, Tezak, adding that Windermere’s vast network of offices and agents will enable the Wailea Realty team to better serve their clients and expand their marketing reach.
“Wailea Realty is such a successful, highly regarded company, and we are incredibly excited to welcome them to the Windermere family,” said Wood. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to build the Windermere brand on Maui through this new relationship with Brad, Tom and their team.”
Along with its 40 agents, Wailea Realty Corp. will now be doing business as Wailea Realty Corp., a Boutique of Windermere Real Estate. The Windermere Real Estate office in Kihei is also open for business as Windermere Maui.
