Description
Take a step back in time. ..That's what happens when you visit Santa Teresa. It provides a slice of old Costa Rica, at least 25 years ago. One reason why is because Santa Teresa is located at the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula and there was no access by road until about the year 2000. And even now, it's an adventure to get there...But once you've arrived, everyone agrees the journey was well worth it! Santa Teresa is actually made up of four of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There's Mal Pais, which is rocky, picturesque and filled with hundreds of tide pools. Playa Carmen and Santa Teresa are not only gorgeous but also a surfer's paradise. And Playa Hermosa is filled with a tropical forest that comes right down to the beach. It's great for swimming and it's also filled with even more tide pools, from Olympic sized pools, excellent for snorkeling, to personal jacuzzi type pools where you can just sit, relax and contemplate the beauty all around you.
The area is literally filled with natural beauty, monkeys, and tropical birds. The beaches are pristine and less crowded than other Costa Rican beaches, and it's not unusual to have a beach all to yourself. That's why Santa Teresa attracts many international visitors...From surfers to families, and several celebrities who have made Santa Teresa their home, they all come to marvel and enjoy this unique and stunning area.
