John Payne

A seventh generation Charlestonian and the third generation in an esteemed Charleston real estate family, John has a deep knowledge of the trends and traditions of the historic neighborhoods, with a specialty in downtown sales, renovation, restoration and conversion investment properties.

John earned his undergraduate degree in History and French from the College of Charleston and the Universite Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers, France. He then completed his masters degree in International Business from the University of South Carolina and the Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Paris, specializing in marketing and negotiations. After working throughout France and Belgium, John returned home in 2003 to start his real estate career.

Drawing both from his business acumen and a distinct love of the Lowcountry, John offers his clients a savvy insiders perspective on Charleston real estate. Being an avid outdoor enthusiast, John takes advantage of much of what Charleston and its environs have to offer including: surfing, fishing, hunting, and boating, as well as cooking with local ingredients.
