With over 37 years of real estate experience, Michael joined LIV Sotheby's in 2013 to offer clients access to the most prestigious brand and trusted service in the industry. During his career, Michael has been involved with all aspects of real estate including development, acquisitions, due diligence, financing and consulting for both residential and commercial properties. Michael applies his broad experience to successfully execute for his clients. His entire career has been built on real estate expertise, ethical practice, communication, outstanding service and exceptional results.
Michael is a 25-year resident of Colorado and has been an active investor in Denver real estate. Originally from NY, and then Chicago, Michael currently lives with his wife in Platt Park and has lived in several other Denver metro neighborhoods. Michael’s two children also live in Platt Park, with his older son being a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and his younger daughter a recent graduate of University of Denver. Michael has a Bachelor’s degree from Wharton Business School, MBA from Kellogg Business School, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
During his tenure with LIV Sotheby’s, Michael also spent two years as CFO and then President of Anthology Senior Living, which developed, owned and operated senior housing communities across the US. Prior to joining LIV Sotheby’s ten years ago, Michael spent 16 years with Archstone Apartments, heading the Finance & Treasury and Due Diligence departments. Previously, Michael was a Consulting Manager with Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal for six years, advising real estate clients on valuation, transaction and structuring matters. During his career, Michael has participated in billions of dollars in real estate transactions, establishing himself as a recognized expert in project management, negotiations, valuation, due diligence, market analysis and 1031 exchanges.
Leveraging extensive experience and training, Michael offers a patient and caring approach to advising clients on one of their most important investment decisions. Michael offers guidance and expertise in an often-challenging environment to keep all parties cooperating to reach a successful outcome. With his calm demeanor, Michael is effective in both adversarial situations as well as collaborative endeavors.
