STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO (December, 2008) -- The Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation awarded a total of $10,000 in grants to six local organizations Monday, December 22nd, at 4 p.m.at a gathering at the Tread of Pioneers Museum. This is the fourth distribution of grants totaling over $40,000 by the Charitable Foundation and is part of a continuous effort to support community-based programs.
The winter's recipients are: Habitat for Humanity, Tread of Pioneers Musuem, Rollingstone Respite House, South Routt Historical Society, Yampa Valley Autism Program and Western Heritage Partnership.
The Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation was established in 2006 in order to provide a means to give back to the community. In addition to donations made at the time of real estate transactions, employees, managers and matching funds from client and public donations, can also contribute to the foundation. The goal of the Charitable Foundation is to support a wide range of community based programs related to human services, the arts, education, western heritage, the environment and recreation.
The past recipients were: Born Free Wildlife Rehabilitation, Colorado West Mental Health Inc., Communidad Integrada, The Community Agriculture Alliance, Emerald City Opera, Family Development Center, Heritage Park Preschool, Hospice Services of Northwest Colorado, Historic Routt County!, Laurel Street School & Family Center, Lift-Up of Routt County, North Routt Preschool, Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, Routt County Search and Rescue, South Routt Early Learning Center, Steamboat Art Museum, Steamboat Springs Montessori, The Steamboat Springs Youth Orchestra, Totally Kids, Inc., Yampa Valley Stream Improvement Charitable Trust, Yampatika, Young Tracks, Inc. and The Wyman Museum.

Since 1959, Tread of Pioneers Museum has been devoted to collecting, preserving and exhibiting the history of the Steamboat Springs area.
The Rollingstone Respite House was purchased by the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurses Association in 2008 and is in the process of developing Hospice, Adult Day Services and Family bereavement services for this location.
The South Routt Historical Society brings together those interested in the history of the Upper Yampa Valley in Routt County, especially those in Oak Creek, Stagecoach and Phippsburg.
The mission of the Yampa Valley Autism Program is to enable individuals affected by an autism spectrum disorder and its related disabilities.
Western Heritage Partnership works to bring art and hands on exhibits to commemorate the western lifestyle in Steamboat Springs and Routt County.
