Narrated Concert Adaptation of Opera by SF Conservatory of Music
San Francisco, CA – (April 7, 2009) – Concerts at the Presidio is pleased to present The Marriage of Figaro as the spring performance of its 2009 season. The one-and-three-quarters-hours program features a narrated concert adaptation of this timeless Mozart opera, presented by talented young performers from the San Francisco Opera Center, San Francisco Conservatory of Music and other elite. Evening concerts will be performed on Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24 at 7:30 PM at the historic Golden Gate Club in the Presidio of San Francisco. Seating is limited so reservations are highly recommended.
Baritone Todd Donovan appears in the title role, joined by soprano Jennie Litster as Susanna, mezzo-soprano Renée Tatum as Cherubino, soprano Erin McOmber as the Countess, baritone Darrell Babidge as the Count, mezzo-soprano Lauren Groff as Marcellina, and baritone Jason Sarten as Bartolo/Basilio. Pianist Ron Valentino accompanies.
A suggested donation of $5 per person, gratefully received at the door, will help Concerts at the Presidio continue with this popular series. Since its 2005 this well received community concert series is produced throughout the year by Bryant McOmber, VP and Branch Executive of Pacific Union Real Estate’s Presidio office, and enjoys generous and ongoing support of The Presidio Trust.
