SARASOTA, Florida—(November 4, 2010)—Michael Saunders & Company has named James Hammar, a longtime Gulf Coast real estate and development professional, to manage the firm’s two newest offices in Punta Gorda and Burnt Store, it was announced today from the company’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida.
Hammar, whose management-level experience includes overseeing property development, product marketing and sales coordination as president of his own real estate development firm—as well as conducting sales training and Realtor incentive programs—will assume his new responsibilities immediately. These include managing the firm’s newly opened sales office in downtown Punta Gorda—at 101 Taylor Street—and a second one in Burnt Store, at 15500 Burnt Store Road. He has been a licensed real estate broker and certified general contractor in the State of Florida for over 25 years.

Hammer, a Pennsylvania native and graduate in marketing from the University of Detroit, was most recently president of SeaTek, a Naples-based real estate development company that specialized in high-end luxury condominiums. As such, he was responsible for every aspect of the company’s management and operations, including land acquisition, product design, budgeting, market research, employee training and sales coordination. Prior to that he served as a senior sales executive for Kensington Golf & Country Club, also in Naples, where he was responsible for successfully revitalizing sluggish sales by introducing an entirely new product mix, new marketing plan and entirely new sales team.
