Lewis B. Kaye, President of LBKaye International Realty Commercial Services was honored with the 2011 Realtor of the Year award by the NYC BMAR Board of NAR (National Association of Real Estate Brokers) at their 87th Annual Banquet held at Marina del Rey on the East River. Realtor of the Year is the highest honor that Nunzio del Greco, CEO of BMAR, bestows upon one of its members.
Upon accepting his award, Kaye, celebrating his golden fiftieth year in real estate and often called a “Trailblazer” in New York real estate circles, said, “In my 50 years of business, I’ve seen so many people come and go, and I’ve seen other economic downturns. It is those that keep going that are the successful ones; they are the legends.”
He added special comments about “the creativity of Marilyn Harra Kaye, who joined my firm decades ago and controller, Clara DuRoseau.”
Lewis B. Kaye has handled some of New York’s most prestigious properties, selling over 1,000 buildings including high rises, mixed use buildings, townhouses, lofts, condominiums and co-operatives, commercial buildings and waterfronts. His average sale price is $10 million.
Lewis Kaye is credited for the first condominium on Central Park West (The Century at 25 Central Park West) and the largest co-operative conversion "The Schwab House” on Riverside Drive.
Last year, Lewis B. Kaye received the first “Male Pioneer Award” from Lori Sokol, founder and publisher of New York Residential Magazine, for providing management opportunities to women in real estate.
Upon receiving this year’s Realtor of the Year award, Kaye said that he is looking at new real estate launches and projects of advanced local and global concepts.
