Washington Fine Properties is pleased to announce the sale of the historic Henry Foxhall House at 3123 Dumbarton Street. The 6,000 square foot federal home sold for $7,000,000, a 2012 record sales price in Georgetown’s East Village. Also known as the McKenney House, 3123 Dumbarton was built in 1800 by Henry Foxhall (1758-1853) when his daughter, Mary Ann, married Samuel McKenney. Foxhall was a mayor of Georgetown and a munitions manufacturer who supplied iron for Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. The house remained in the McKenney family until the 1940s, and since that time it has only had two owners. The Foxhall House is renowned for its outstanding late Federal period architecture. The lush, verdant gardens were designed by the notable Washington landscape architect, Rose Greely.
