This award is one of the Conejo Simi Moorpark Association of REALTORS’® most prestigious honors, and is presented to an ethical and professional individual who stands out as a role model for others in the industry.
Announced at the annual Installation and Awards Luncheon on December 4, 2014, 2013's REALTOR of the Year recipient, Connie Reed, gave a remarkable speech describing how Hanley's contributions in the real estate industry, and shared highlights including his service on the California Association of REALTORS Board of Directors since 2008 and both the JOINT OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE and CARETS Board of Directors since 2009.
Hanley’s quiet presence, egoless spirit and poised and charming ways make him a pleasure to work with. Attendees of the luncheon from the CSMAOR community warmly welcomed Hanley to the podium to receive his award, and camaraderie from Troop Real estate, Inc. was reflected in a standing ovation and congratulatory handshake from CEO Brian Troop.
"Mike has always gone above and beyond in his efforts to help out by generously giving his time and talent on a regular basis," said Troop. "His selfless act of volunteering in the real estate business and local community definitely deserves this most prestigious award of REALTOR of the Year."
Hanley is a well-educated man with an MBA from UCLA and 30 years of experience in the corporate world. He has been married to his wife and business partner, Pat, for 32 years, and has four children. Three of their children hold undergraduate degrees and one in progress, two hold masters degrees and one in progress, and two practice real estate at Troop Real Estate, Inc.
"I was ecstatic when I heard Mike was the recipient of the REALTOR of the Year Award," said Pat. "He works tirelessly for the Board of Directors and does everything he can for the community, and is a prime role model to our kids. We just received notice that he has been nominated by the California state association to serve on the National Association of REALTORS’ prestigious team of Federal Political Coordinators. If elected, he will advocate on behalf of the one million plus members and work to advance important real estate issues in the United States Congress over the next two years. It is an incredible honor, and I am so proud of his accomplishments."
