CHICAGO, IL - The KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation, the charitable arm of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group, welcomed fourteen Sunshine Kids to Chicago for a four-day teen getaway. The Sunshine Kids is a national non-profit organization that offers a variety of programs for children that are battling cancer; it was the organization’s first teen getaway in Chicago, Illinois.
From August 18th to August 20th, children from all over the U.S. enjoyed three days in the Windy City that included a view from the top of Willis Tower’s observation deck, a visit to the Shedd Aquarium, a pizza making party at Frankie’s Scallopine, a ride on the Seadog Cruise boat, an afternoon at Navy Pier with lunch at DMK Burger, a trip to the Bean, a performance by the Blue Man 
Group and bowling at Lucky Strike. Eighteen KoenigRubloff agents and employees from the Foundation showed Chicago hospitality, volunteering as airport greeters, group chaperones, tour guides, party coordinators, photographers and support crew.
“The admiration I have for these kids is immense,” said Joe Stacy, Chairman of the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation. Stacy continued, “I’m honored to have spent a few days in their company. They were having an absolute blast, even with all that they’re going through. It’s inspiring to watch. Witnessing precious moments and seeing them smile is something I will carry with me forever. We couldn’t be happier hosting them and partnering with this phenomenal organization. It was such a rewarding experience for our agents and employees to spend time with these wonderful kids. We can’t wait to have them back in Chicago!”
