DENVER, CO - The holiday season is a little brighter for two organizations benefiting from the hard work and dedication of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty brokers, Ron Feldman and Jessica Northrop, who have made considerable charitable contributions this December. Feldman supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by donating all proceeds from Cherry Creek North’s Camera Club Photography Exhibit to the foundation, and Northrop traveled to Nicaragua to build homes for Giveback Homes, an organization focused on building homes for those in need globally.
“One of the members of our Cherry Creek North Camera Club has been very involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), as their son has had type 1 diabetes since childhood. I became more cognizant of the disease when someone close to me was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as an adult, allowing me to realize close-up how it effects anyone’s life,” said LIV Sotheby’s International Realty broker, Ron Feldman. “When the president of the Camera Club came up with the idea for our first gallery show, coupled with the chosen recipient of all proceeds being JDRF, it didn’t take much thought. It was simple decision allowing me to use a passion for photography to help with what I believe to be a very worthwhile cause.”
Feldman and fellow camera club members showcased their art in Denver’s exclusive Cherry Creek North district, hosting an opening reception with all proceeds supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
In Nicaragua, LIV SIR broker, Jessica Northrop, participated in a home building project with Giveback Homes, a community of real estate professionals who are committed to creating social change by helping build homes for deserving families around the globe.
“Being able to travel to Nicaragua and build a home for very deserving family has changed me forever,” said Northrop. “As a Realtor, we are constantly in the process of helping others buy and sell properties. Many times these properties are their homes, their havens, their safe place. Being on the front line and actually seeing the need in Nicaragua and being a part of the building of a home was an incredibly life changing experience. It has challenged me to be more devoted to the needs in my local community and communities abroad. Everyone deserves a place to call home.”
